Obituary

Helen I. Sakalosky, age 96 of Shenandoah passed away Tuesday at Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Born in Shenandoah on August 8, 1914 she was the daughter of the late George Adam and Isabelle E. (Wingle) Sakalosky.

Helen was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah

Prior to her retirement, she worked at the former Shenandoah Evening Herald as a Proof Reader and Switch Board Operator.

She was a member of St. Georges Church, Shenandoah and the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens. Using her knitting talents she volunteered many hours for Feed the Children and World Vision Charitable Organizations.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were a brother Edward Sakalosky and her twin sister Leona Sakalosky.

Surviving are a brother George P. Sakalosky and his wife Judith of Gatlinburg, TN; a sister-in-law Theresa Sakalosky of Hershey; nephews and nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 11:00 am in St. Casimirs Church, Shenandoah. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. There will be no calling hours or visitation prior to the Mass.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.
