Helen A. (Lapuck) Yurgenc, age 82, a resident of Shenandoah Senior Living Community and a former resident of the Shenandoah High Rise Apartments and William Penn, West Mahanoy Twp. passed away Saturday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian St., Pottsville.
Born in William Penn on May 21, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Anna (Shukdinas) Lapuck.
She was a graduate of the former West Mahanoy Township High School.
Helen was a retired garment worker having last worked for the former Debbie-Jo Dress Factory, Shenandoah.
Helen was a member of St. Georges Church, Shenandoah and the ILGWU. She was also a former member of the Lithuanian Womens Alliance, American Legion Post #370 Ladies Auxiliary and the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her husband, Albert Yurgenc on July 16, 1996.
Surviving are a niece, Valerie Luckie of Ocean City, NJ and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 25 at 9:30 am in St. Stanislaus Church, Shenandoah. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
Friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 am until time of service. There will be no services from the funeral home.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.
