Helen H. (Galinas) Stefanowicz, age 96 of Shenandoah Heights passed away peacefully on Thursday at Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Shenandoah Heights.

Helen was born on October 16, 1917 and was a lifelong resident of the Shenandoah area.

She was a 1935 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

Helen was a member of St. Georges Church, Shenandoah where she belonged to the Rosary and Sacred Heart Societies. She was also a member of the ILGWU.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Stefanowicz.

Helen was a loving mother to her son, Edward Stefanowicz of Shenandoah Heights and two daughters, Nancy Stefanowicz Walker and son-in-law, Grant of New Orleans, LA and Marie Stefanowicz Simms and son-in-law, Robert of Galloway, NJ. She is also survived by six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Casimir Church, Shenandoah. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
