Elizabeth T. Betty (Perrong) Mickalowski, age 87 formerly of Laurel St., Shenandoah passed away peacefully Saturday at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community where she resided for the past nine years.
Born in Shenandoah on October 18, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Leo and Pauline (Stabinsky) Perrong.
She was a graduate of Shenandoah Catholic High School and received her Licensed Practical Nurses training at the former Ashland School of Nursing.
Betty last worked as an LPN at the former Ashland State Hospital.
She was a member of Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah.
Betty was an avid bingo player. In earlier years, she enjoyed her many fishing trips to Lake Oneida, NY and Canada.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were husbands, Walter Mickalowski and Walter Matuk; an infant daughter at birth, Victoria Mickalowski and a brother, Leo Perrong.
Surviving are two sons, Walter Butch Mickalowski and his companion Josephine of Shenandoah and Ronald Mickalowski and his wife Julie of Shenandoah; a daughter, Pauline Lorah of Ringtown; five grandchildren, Bill Lorah and his wife Marjorie of Ringtown, Timmy Mickalowski of St. Clair, Ronnie Mickalowski and his wife Crystal of Nescopeck, Stephanie Barlow of Harrisburg and Brian Scully of Shenandoah; seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends at the Shenandoah Manor.
Prayer and scripture services will be held Saturday 10:30 a.m. from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Annunciation BVM Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah is in charge of arrangements.
