Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Kiskeravage) Kowalonek, 77, of Ringtown, passed away Friday afternoon at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Shenandoah, October 5, 1940, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Zakiewicz) Kiskeravage.
She was a 1958 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Ateeco Inc., Mrs. T's Pierogies, Shenandoah.
On Nov. 9, 1974, in the former St. Stanislaus Church, Shenandoah, she married Frank W. Kowalonek, who preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 1998.
She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah. Throughout her life, she was a devout member and active volunteer for the former St. Stanislaus Church, especially with the weekly bingos, bazaars and food sales.
Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and, as "Babci," cherished her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and husband, was a brother, William Kirk.
Surviving are a son, Stefan Kowalonek and his wife, Jennifer, Frackville; two daughters, Stefanie Meskunas and her husband, Joe, Frackville, and Stacie Green and her husband, Roy, Ashland; five grandchildren, Claire Elizabeth, Alyza and Francis Kowalonek and Kylie and Cole Meskunas; two step-grandchildren, Rachel and Jake Green; a sister, Jean Kiskeravage and her son, Christopher Kiskeravage and his family, all of Allentown; a sister-in-law, Helene Kirk, Danville; an aunt, Roseann Bonkowski, Shenandoah; nephews, nieces and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Casimir Church, the sacred worship site of Divine Mercy Parish, 229 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah. The Rev. Robert T. Finlan will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
