Eleanor F. (Sobolewski) Sadowski, 92, of Shenandoah, passed away peacefully Wednesday night at Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Born in Shenandoah, November 29, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Bridget Sobolewski.

She was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

Eleanor was the owner and operator of the former Rainbow Sportswear, Shenandoah. She was also a bookkeeper at various garment factories in Shenandoah and surrounding areas.

She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, and prior to that was a lifelong member of St. Casimir Church. She was also a member of the former Polka Belles, having participated in their many functions and activities throughout the years.

Eleanor was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and aunt. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was a talented baker and cook, having been well known for pies, cakes, traditional ethnic dishes as well as gourmet delicacies.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Victor H. Sadowski and her daughter, Stephanie Mangers.

Surviving are her son, Robert V. Sadowski and his wife, Eleanor, Shenandoah; a granddaughter, Lisa Karpovich Linderman and her husband, Will, Ashburn, Va.; a great-granddaughter, Lexie Linderman; a step-grandson, Gozzi, Shenandoah; additional step-grandchildren, Gazelle, Glenn and Geneve, all in the Philippines; nephews, Kenny, Lenny and Victor Sobolewski and Eugene Laigon; nieces, additional nephews, cousins and many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Casimir Church, the sacred worship site of Divine Mercy Parish, 229 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Casimir Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah.
