Eleanor J. Greene, age 83 of High Rise Apartments Mahanoy City passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, August 13, 2014 at Broad Mt. Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Frackville.

Born in Mahanoy City on July 18, 1931 she was a daughter of the late Carl Greene, Sr. and Julia Alex Greene.

She was a 1949 graduate of the former Mahanoy City High School. Prior to her retirement she worked for the former Morgan Knitting Mills, Hometown.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were one sister, Helen Hillibush and one brother, Carl Green, Jr.; one niece, Susan Hillibush Nelson.

Surviving are her nephew and caregivers, David Hillibush and his wife Mary of Norwich, CT and one great-nephew, Aaron Hillibush of Ledyard, CT.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside services, Friday, September 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the German Protestant Cemetery, Mahanoy City.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.
