Elaine M. (Storms) Kwedder, RN, 88, a resident of Phoebe Ministries, Allentown, formerly of Weston Place, Shenandoah, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning at St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown.
Born in Richland Center, Wis., Oct. 26, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Margaret Janney Storms.
She graduated from nursing school in Chicago.
Elaine was a registered nurse, having been employed at the former Locust Mountain State Hospital, Shenandoah Heights, and later retired from the St. Joseph's satellite, Shenandoah.
She was a member of the former St. George Church, Shenandoah, Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens, Catholic Nurse's Guild, North Schuylkill Chapter and Lithuanian Women's Club of Schuylkill County.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Edward J. Kwedder, in 1991; a daughter, Nancy Kwedder Mayfield, in 1986; a brother, Wilford Storms.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan Hubler and husband, Joel, Slatington; a son, Michael Kwedder and his wife, Anita, Harrisburg; a granddaughter, Shannon Holly and her husband, Shaun, Shenandoah Heights; a grandson, Nathanael Hubler, Slatington; nieces and nephews.
Religious services will be held at noon Saturday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian will officiate. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
