Edward M. Felegi, age 65 of Turkey Run, Shenandoah passed away peacefully Thursday evening.
He was born on October 13, 1948 at the former Locust Mountain State General Hospital, Shenandoah Heights.
Ed was a 1966 graduate of the former Shenandoah Catholic High School and also graduated from Penn State University with a degree in law enforcement and corrections.
He was a decorated Air Force Veteran during the Vietnam era. Upon discharge from active service, he enlisted in the Air Force Reserves.
Ed had been previously employed at Dana Corporation, Reading as a welder.
On July 21, 1979 in St. Georges Church, Shenandoah he married the former Barbara Ann J. Stankiewitch who survives.
He was a proud member and had been an active volunteer firefighter for the Polish American Fire Company, Shenandoah. He was also a member of the United Steel Workers Union.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 34 years are one daughter, Amanda Felegi Hall and her husband Kerry of Saddle Brook, NJ; one brother-in-law, Michael Stankiewitch and his wife Lisa of Orwigsburg; two nephews, Michael and Matthew Stankiewitch both of Orwigsburg and many friends.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family and private interment with military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.
