Edward "Bingo" "Big Ed"
Bykowsky
July 18, 1960 – June 10, 2026
Edward “Bingo” “Big Ed” Bykowsky, 65, of Mt. Olive Boulevard, Shenandoah, passed away unexpectedly on June 10, 2026—no doubt leaving a trail of stories, laughter, and at least one unfinished project behind him.
Born in Shenandoah on July 18, 1960, he was the son of the late Edward and Dolores (Radzavage) Bykowsky. Edward was a lifelong member of the community, known for his generous nature and the big heart with which he lived his life.
He attended Shenandoah Catholic Elementary School, where he achieved perfect attendance through eighth grade—a streak that may have prepared him well for a lifetime of showing up whenever anyone needed a hand. He went on to graduate from Shenandoah Valley High School in 1978.
Edward cherished his family and friendships above all else. A man of many talents, he could move effortlessly from working as a mechanic to preparing unforgettable meals in his kitchen. His famous chili and apple cake were enjoyed by many and showcased his natural culinary gifts. He was a member of the Park Crest Fish and Game Club and the Hairy Canaries.
Known at work as “Big Ed,” he was employed as a sales product specialist with East Penn Re-Builders in Allentown.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Helene Schreppel, and his daughter, Melissa. He also leaves behind his sister, Lori Kane, and her husband, Tom, along with their children, Hannah Kane, Shelbey Kozie, and her husband, Kyle, and Rylee Ryan, and her husband, Mason. He is further survived by his brother, Robert “Bingo” Bykowsky, and his wife, Kim; his sisters-in-law, Anne Gober, wife of Paul, and Mary Kay Seigfried; his nieces, Jenna Rae Matta and Renee Correa; and his great-nephew, Levi Kozie. He will be deeply and lovingly missed, not only by those who knew him well, but by his faithful Yorkshire Terrier, Baley, who would listen for the familiar sound of his truck coming home, a quiet testament to the strong bond they shared.
Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Bingo’s life. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 8 to 10 a.m. at Walukiewicz-Oravitz-Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin Street, Shenandoah. A Scripture service will begin at 10 a.m., followed by interment at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Shenandoah.
