Dorothy M. (Shopple) Stefanowicz, age 87 formerly of Ohio Ave., Shenandoah Heights passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at the Laurel Center, Hamburg.

Born in Shenandoah on January 24, 1926 she was a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Rackauskas) Shopple.

She was a graduate of the former West Mahanoy Township High School, Shenandoah Heights.

Dorothy was a retired garment worker having worked in the local garment industry.

She was a member of St. Georges Church, Shenandoah and the ILGWU and was a former member of the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens.

Dorothy cherished the time spent with her family especially her children and grandchildren.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband Anthony L. Stefanowicz who died on September 12, 1970; one grandson, Stratton Stefanowicz and one sister, Marie Shopple.

Surviving are her son, Glenn Stefanowicz of Lititz and his companion Julie Mader; one daughter Linda Anthony and her husband John of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Mercena Stefanowicz-Canales and Brandon and Jillian Anthony; one sister, Evelyn Moyer of Lebanon; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 am from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from Friday morning from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. There will be no calling hours Thursday evening.
