Doris Kline, 81, formerly of the Shenandoah Village Apartments passed away Wednesday evening at the Carbondale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Shenandoah on November 5, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Beatrice (Durham) Kline.
She worked as a house cleaner for many years.
Doris was a faithful and lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church, Shenandoah where she volunteered most of her time to help with all events that took place at the church. She was also a member of the church choir and enjoyed singing solo during services and weddings. She enjoyed playing bingo and loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Linford Kline and one sister, Elva Drumheller.
She is survived by one son, Charles Kline and his wife Darlene of Jermyn; one granddaughter, Darcie Rager & her husband Ethan of Waynesboro; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Prayer and scripture services will be held Friday at 1:00 pm from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin Street, Shenandoah. Rev. Christopher Wollyung, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Shenandoah will officiate. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights in her family plot.
Relatives and friends may call Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy will be available at the funeral home and can be made in Doriss name to the First United Methodist Church, 38 East Oak St., Shenandoah, PA 17976.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.
