Dennis D. Miller Sr., 66, of Shenandoah, passed away unexpectedly early Friday morning at his residence.
Born in Pitman, he was a son of the late Jacob and Isabella (Kehler) Miller.
Dennis was a self-employed carpenter, having owned and operated Miller Contracting Co., Shenandoah.
On August 14, 1971, in the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Shenandoah, he married the former Gloria Oliver, who survives.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed going to the casinos. Dennis was a skilled auto mechanic, having repaired cars for family and friends and, as a hobby, he also enjoyed restoring cars.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 46 years, Gloria Miller, are a son, Dennis D. Miller Jr., at home; a daughter, Michelle Miller, Shenandoah; four grandchildren, Ashley, Danyel, Emma and Hayley; a great-grandson, Elijah; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. The Rev. Mindy Heppe will officiate. A visitation will be held from 9 until 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Donations will be greatly appreciated and accepted at the funeral home to help defray expenses.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
