Dennis Patrick Lally, 62, of West Main Street, Girardville, passed away Tuesday evening at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born in Ashland on July 26, 1956, he was a son of Ann Marie "Sissy" (Chuplis) Lally, Lost Creek, and late James M. "Van" Lally Sr.
He was a 1974 graduate of the former Cardinal Brennan High School, Fountain Springs.
On May 29, 1976, in the former St. Mary Magdalen Church, Lost Creek, he married the former Susan A. Hancock, who survives.
Dennis along with his wife were the owners and operators of Sueden Trucking, Girardville. He was devoted to his business and worked every day of the week. If he was not driving the trucks, he was most likely repairing them.
He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah. Dennis was an avid camper and enjoyed the time spent with family and friends at Ideal Park Campground. In addition to being a car enthusiast, he had many motorcycles that he enjoyed riding. However, his family was of most importance to him, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, James M. Lally Jr., his father-in-law, Leo Hancock, and his brother-in-law, Martin Hancock.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, Ann Marie "Sissy" Lally, and his wife of over 42 years, Susan A. Lally, are two daughters, Dana M. Lally and her fiance, Scott Stockunas, Mahanoy Plane, and Deanna P. Lally and her fiance, Justin Monaghan, Frackville; three grandchildren, Landon, Aubrie and Ryan Monaghan; two sisters, Rosaire Miller and her husband, Raymond, Lost Creek, and Kayte Lally, Lansdale; his mother-in-law, Shirley Hancock, Girardville; two sisters-in-law, Christine Kaleda and her husband, Joseph, Reading, and Cheryl Ann Semanchick and her husband, Ted, Girardville; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his pet dogs, Baby Brother and Jazebelle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Divine Mercy Church, 232 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah, with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Annunciation BVM Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held from 9 until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah.
