Daniel F. Danny Lesko, age 76 of 645 ½ E. Centre St., Shenandoah passed away Wednesday morning at Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Shenandoah Heights.

Born in Shenandoah on June 12, 1936 he was a son of the late George and Jennie (Kulesa) Lesko.

Danny was a graduate of the Hershey Police Academy. He retired from the Borough of Frackville as a police officer after 25 years of service. He along with his brother George Lesko were self-employed contractors in the Shenandoah area.

He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Shenandoah; the Fraternal Order of Police North Schuylkill Lodge #25 and the Park Crest Fish and Game Association. As an avid football fan, Danny enjoyed rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Surviving are his wife, the former Joanne A. Retcavage of 34 years; three sons, Daniel Lesko, Jr. and his wife Alexis of Frackville, Joseph Lesko of Frackville and Robert Clark and his wife Marie of Shenandoah; two daughters, Barbara Szczyglak and her husband John of Shenandoah and Carol Arbushites of Brandonville; three brothers, George Lesko of Shenandoah, Bernard Lesko and his wife Josie of Joppa, MD and Edward Lesko and his wife Cindy of Palmerton; eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9:30 AM from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. Casimirs Church. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday from 8:30 AM until time of service.
