Clarence Mohutsky, 91, of Shenandoah, passed away peacefully Sunday at Broad Mountain Health & Rehabilitation Center, Frackville, where he was a resident for the past two years.
Born in Shenandoah, March 29, 1927, he was a son of the late Michael and Julia (Oravitz) Mohutsky.
He was anArmy veteran having served during theKorean War era.
Clarence was a retired coal miner having worked in the local anthracite industry.
He was a member of St. Michael Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Shenandoah, and the United Mine Workers of America.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were three brothers, Michael, Emil and Ralph; and three sisters, Anna Kelly, Mary Jawor and Julia Ciesluk.
Surviving are his brother, Edward Mohutsky and his wife, Rosemary, Frackville; his sister, Christine "Teenie" Sebastian, Macungie; nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Michael Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Shenandoah, with Monsignor Myron Grabowsky, pastor, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A viewing will be held from 9 until 10 a.m. Thursday in the church. The family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thanks to the staff of Broad Mountain Health & Rehab Center for the excellent care and concern shown to Clarence.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
