Anna Mae Karpovich, 78 of Shenandoah passed away peacefully on Sunday morning surrounded by her family at Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Shenandoah Heights.
Born in Shenandoah on July 18, 1939 she was a daughter of the late Joseph & Mary (Cominsky) Karpovich.
Anna Mae attended the former St. George Elementary School, Shenandoah and was a graduate of the former Immaculate Heart Academy, Fountain Springs. Shen then graduated from Marywood University in 1961.
She taught at Shenandoah Valley High School and worked at the Department of Labor in Washington, D.C.
Anna Mae was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah formerly St. Georges Church.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were four brothers, Leon, Leonard, Joseph and Thomas Karpovich and one sister, Arlene Karpovich.
Surviving are five brothers, Henry Karr (wife, Ann deceased) of Lakeland, Florida; John Jack Karpovich and his wife Mary of Shenandoah Heights, Daniel Karpovich of Shenandoah, Robert Karpovich and his wife Hazel of Dothan, Alabama and Ronald Karpovich and his wife Ruth of Lady Lake, Florida; two sisters, Regina Karpovich of Shenandoah and Sister Marilyn Karpovich, a Sister of St. Casimir in Lemont, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Georgianna Karpovich (husband, Thomas deceased) of Doylestown; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am in Divine Mercy Church, 232 West Cherry St., Shenandoah. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held in Divine Mercy Church on Monday morning from 9:00 am until 10:00 am.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.
