Obituary

Ann M. Kelly, 68, a life-long resident of Shenandoah, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, Allentown. Born in Shenandoah on March 29, 1955, Ann was the daughter of the late John J. Kelly and Anna (Mohutsky) Kelly. She was a 1972 graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School. Growing up on the east end of Shenandoah Mr. Ted Twardzik, Sr. always asked the kids if they wanted a job at his plant. After graduation Ann accepted his offer and continued to work there for forty-five years. She retired from Ateeco Inc., Mrs. T's Pierogies as an accounts receivable coordinator. Years after her retirement, Ann found her happy place on the river in Virginia right next door to her late nephew, John Kelly. She couldn't spend as much time there as she wished but loved her memories by the water with her fiancé Ben Makarczyk, her faithful furry friend "Daisy" and her family. As it turns out, Daisy was waiting only a short nine days by the rainbow bridge for her faithful companion. When Ann wasn't by the water, she enjoyed the simple things in life, hanging out at Ben's garage, playing solitaire, and Sunday drives. She will be dearly missed by Ben with whom she enjoyed life with for many, many years. Ann was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah and the former Annunciation BVM Church. She really knew how to fry a bleenie at the church block parties. She also loved cooking for her family on special occasions. Ann devoted her life to being a wonderful daughter, sister, fiancée, aunt and great aunt to her loving family. Ann is survived by her brother, John "Jack" Kelly and his wife Louise Ann of Shenandoah; fiancé, John "Ben" Makarczyk of Shenandoah, niece, Tina Nerelli and husband Dan, great-nephew Chase and great-niece, Ella all of West Chester; cousins and many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 10:00 am in Divine Mercy Church, 232 West Cherry Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Annunciation BVM Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A viewing will be held on Friday morning from 8:00 am until 9:45 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin St., Shenandoah. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Divine Mercy Parish Memorial Fund, 108 West Cherry Street, Shenandoah, PA 17976.
