Alice M. Loughlin Grimes, 99 of Shenandoah passed away peacefully on Thursday night, March 4, 2021 with her family by her side at Broad Mountain Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Frackville where she currently resided. Born in Shenandoah on February 26, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Anthony & Louise (Macaravage) Niemkiewicz. She was a retired garment worker having worked in the local garment industry. She retired from the former Jo-Vin Dress Factory, Shenandoah and was a member of the ILGWU. Alice was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah formerly St. Casimir's Church. She volunteered much time with numerous parish functions including bazaars and bake sales. She was also a member of the Polish Ladies Social Club and the Polka Belles. Alice was an avid Avon customer and loved their products. But above all, she cherished the time spent with her family. In her earlier years, she never missed attending her son's midget football games. Surviving are her son Robert "Bob" Loughlin of Ashland; her granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Yourey and her husband Gino of Ashland; greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend, Bernadine Seritsky of Frackville. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husbands, William Loughlin and James C. Grimes; two sisters, Clara Piorkowski and Estelle DeLuca; three brothers, Joseph, Frank and Edward Niemkiewicz; and her daughter-in-law, Estelle Loughlin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 9:30 am in Divine Mercy Church, 232 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow at 11:30 am in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A visitation will be held on Tuesday morning in Divine Mercy Church from 8:30 am until 9:30 am.
