Albert C. Butch Logan, Sr., age 95 of 404 E. Lloyd St., Shenandoah passed away Monday evening at Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Born in Shenandoah on September 1, 1916 he was the son of the late Charles and Rose (Kumetis) Leigus.

He was a decorated veteran having served in the US Army during peacetime. He then enlisted in the US Navy during World War II having served in the Pacific Theater of Operations.

In his early life, Albert was a miner having worked in both the Shen-Penn and Maple Hill Collieries. After his military service, he attended meat-cutting school in Ohio and became a butcher by trade. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Ateeco, Inc, Mrs. Ts Pierogies, Shenandoah.

He was of the Catholic faith.

Albert was a life-member of the American Legion Post, Shenandoah and was a member of the East End Field and Stream Club, Shenandoah. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, swimming and playing horseshoes.

He is the last surviving member of his immediate family. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were four sisters, Isabel, Mary, Ann and Violet.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, the former Mary A. Najunas; a son, Albert Logan, Jr. of Shenandoah; two daughters, Roseanne wife of Harry Howard of Ringtown and Linda wife of Leo Breznik of Shenandoah; a grandson, David Howard and his wife Rachael of Hazleton; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Religious and military services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate.

The family prefers donations to the Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.
