Josephine J. (DeGregor) Moyer, 92, of Shenandoah, passed away peacefully Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street.
Born in Shenandoah, March 19, 1926, she was a daughter of the late August and Maria (Matino) DeGregor.
Josephine was a 1944 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah. She was first employed at the former Marin Shirt Co., Shenandoah, and then prior to her retirement, worked for Keebler Co., Philadelphia, for 32 years.
Josephine was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, and prior to that, a lifelong member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Shenandoah. She was also a member of the Amalgamated Garment Workers Union.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Moyer, in 1971; one brother, Anthony DeGregor; five sisters, Florence Gregory, Antionette Monahan, Rose Moyer, Nellie Tomalonis and Millie McDemus.
She is survived by her nephew, Eugene “Gino” Mon-ahan and his wife, Justine, Shenandoah; her niece, Karen Gavala and her husband, Paul, Barnesville; her aunt, Theresa Matino, Shenandoah; other nephews, nieces and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Divine Mercy Church, 232 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
