Joseph M. Piampi, 55, of Ringtown, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at his residence.
Born in the former Ashland State General Hospital, June 22, 1961, he was a son of Elizabeth “Betty” (Grimkowski) Piampi Androshick, Englewood, Florida, and the late Thomas Piampi.
Joe attended Shenandoah Valley High School.
He was previously employed at the Shenandoah Manor, Mike’s Seafood, Shenandoah, Perkins, Hazleton, Universal Forest Products, Gordon, and JMB Security, Frackville.
On July 27, 1996, in the former St. George’s Church, Shenandoah, he married the former Roxana M. Drumblusky, who survives.
Joe was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Ringtown; the Columbia Hose Company, Shenandoah; the Shenandoah Fish & Game Protective Association, Zion Grove; the Knights of Columbus Father Richard Schware Council 16072, Ringtown/Sheppton; and the North Schuylkill Band Boosters. He enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends at Red Ridge Lake. However, he most enjoyed attending his sons school functions and band concerts.
Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife of 20 years, are his son, Zachary Piampi, at home; one brother, Thomas Piampi and his wife, Sharon, Baltimore, Maryland; one sister, Marisa Barusic and her husband, Peter, Oakridge, North Carolina; his stepfather, Anthony Androshick, Englewood, Florida; his mother-in-law, Patricia Drumblusky, Shenandoah; one brother-in-law, David Drumblusky, Shenandoah; one sister-in-law, Virginia Wuttke, Frackville; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and his Shih-poo dog, “Gismo.”
Funeral services will be held at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Ringtown. Monsignor William F. Glosser will officiate. Interment will occur in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ringtown.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
