Catherine E. (O’Neill) Chambers, 86, a resident of the Shenandoah Senior Living Community, formerly of the Shenandoah Village Apartments, passed away Sunday evening at Shenandoah Senior Living Community.
Born in Shenandoah, Feb. 2, 1930, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Donlan) O’Neill.
She was a retired factory worker.
Catherine was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, formerly Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were two sisters, Marie H. Kostowskie and Mary Fry; three brothers, George, Joseph and Francis O’Neill.
Surviving are a niece and caregiver, Maryann Schuetrum and her husband, Roger, Ashland; a daughter, Rita Chambers Caddy; a sister, Margaret Hopper, Portage; a sister-in-law, Ann O’Neill, Frackville; additional nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Divine Mercy Church, Shenandoah. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Annunciation BVM Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
