Dorothy M. (Raddie) Murray, 88, of Mount Carmel, passed away peacefully Thursday evening at her residence with her loving family at her side.
Born in Shenandoah, July 23, 1928, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Anna (Knapp) Raddie.
Dorothy was a 1946 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a medical secretary in private practice.
Dorothy was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mount Carmel. She enjoyed music and dancing, but above all, she loved and was greatly devoted to her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mark J. Murray, July 17, 2000.
Surviving are four sons, twins, Mark J. Murray and his wife, Cathy, Ponte Vedra, Fla., and Mitchell J. Murray and his wife, Cheryl, Spanaway, Wash., John D. Murray and his wife, Debra, Kulpmont, and Matthew J. Murray, her caregiver, Mount Carmel; two sisters, Florence Gretz, Cranberry, N.J., and Joanna Felegi, Bound Brook, N.J.; half brother, John J. Rattie, State College; a step-sister, Dorothy Felegi, Florida; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and their families.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 47 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Francis J. Karwacki, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Union Township, Ringtown.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
