Jennie A. Shuskie

Blessed MotherJennie A. Shuskie, 90, of 100 S. Main St., and formerly West Penn Street, both in Shenandoah, passed away peacefully Sunday evening at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Born in Shenandoah, Oct. 21, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Antanavage Shuskie.

She was a 1945 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

Jennie was a retired garment worker, having worked as a presser in the local garment industry.

She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, formerly St. George Church, the ILGWU and the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens. She was also a member of the former ladies auxiliaries of the Moose Lodge, the Eagles and the American Legion Post, all of Shenandoah.

Preceding her in death. in addition to her parents, were two brothers, Edward and Joseph Shuskie.

Surviving are three sisters, Helen F. Bereschak, Shenandoah, Bernice Link, Tennessee, and Arlene E. Dougal, Lansdowne; her niece and caregiver, Michele Bereschak, Shenandoah; additional nieces and nephews, and her best canine friend, Bailey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Casimir Church, Shenandoah, the sacred worship site of Divine Mercy Parish. The Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Hill Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. There will be no viewing or services from the funeral home.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
