Edward J. “Eddie” Anderson, 88, of North Jardin Street, Shenandoah, passed away peacefully Friday evening at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.
Born in St. Ann, Jamaica, West Indies, Dec. 8, 1927, to Scottish immigrants, he was a son of the late Everald and Louise Angus Anderson.
He was self-employed in the trucking business.For the past nine years, Eddie lived in Shenandoah. Prior to that, he lived in Queens, N.Y., where some of his family still resides.
Eddie was always heard whistling a tune and offering a hello with a friendly smile. He enjoyed flowers and gardening. He had a big heart and a great love for his family and neighbors, as well.
Surviving are three sons; three daughters; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his twin brother and additional brothers and sisters; nieces, nephews and many friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Pastor Marcus Alvarez will officiate. Interment will be in Jamaica, West Indies.
Relatives and friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
