Edna T. (Whitecavage) Unuscavage

Ukrainian CrossEdna T. (Whitecavage) Unuscavage, 96, of Brandonville, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday evening surrounded by her family.

Born in Pleasant Hill, Mahanoy City, Dec. 9, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Floryan and Katherine Kazimerska Whitecavage.

Edna was a retired beautician having owned and operated her own beauty shop in Mahanoy City.

She married her husband, Sam Unuscavage, who was a World War II Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient and preceded her in death, in 1980.

Edna was a member of St. Michael Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Shenandoah.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are two sons, Sam and John Unuscavage; a daughter, Diane Perri; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; an extended family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Michael Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Shenandoah. Monsignor Myron Grabowsky, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ringtown. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to St. Michael Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, 114 South Chestnut St., Shenandoah, PA 17976.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
