Robert P. “Bob” Borusky

Robert P. “Bob” Borusky, 79, of the Mahanoy High Rise, Mahanoy City, passed away peacefully Monday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.

Born in Lost Creek No. 2, April 3, 1936, he was a son of the late Leonard E. and Mary T. Olexa Borusky.

Bob was a graduate of the former West Mahanoy Township High School.

US FlagHe was a decorated Marine Corps veteran having received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

He was a retired chef having last been employed at Mount Airy Resort, Mount Pocono.

Bob was of the Catholic faith.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were three brothers, Joseph, Paul and Jerome Borusky; and a sister, Christine Costello.

Surviving are a brother, Leonard M. Borusky, and his wife, Mary Ann, Catawissa; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in Divine Mercy Church, 230 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Annunciation BVM Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
