Arthur R. Marcoux, 78, of Shenandoah, passed away Saturday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.
Born in Fort Monroe, Va., Nov. 7, 1935, he was a son of the late Louis and Geraldine Ford Marcoux.
Mr. Marcoux was a Marine Corps veteran.
He was a self-employed painter.
Arthur was of the Methodist faith.
He was a life member of the Marine Corps League Black Diamond Detachment 846, where he was awarded The Stars and Stripes Forever Award. He was also a former member of the American Legion Post, Frackville.
Surviving are his wife of 23 years, the former Elizabeth “Betty” Thomas; one stepdaughter, Cheryl Harris, Shenandoah; nieces and nephews.
Prayer and scripture services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. The Rev. Christopher Wollyung, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Shenandoah, will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
