Edward Peter “Bibs” Subach, 59, of Laurel Terrace, Pottsville, formerly of Shenandoah, passed away Friday morning at Geisinger-Bloomsburg Health Care Center, Bloomsburg, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Shenandoah, May 21, 1955, he was a son of the late Edward “McCaff” and Stella (Domozik) Subach.
He was a graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School.
Ed had worked as a custodian at the former Annunciation BVM-St. George Elementary School, Shenandoah.
Bibs enjoyed watching all sporting events. He was an avid Notre Dame, Philiadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan. He was a generous and caring person always willing to lend a hand or a do a favor for a neighbor or friend. He was humorous and was known to make family and friends laugh.
Having a strong religious faith, he was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, and prior to that he was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Church, Shenandoah.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents, was a sister, Arlene (Subach) Liscusky.
Surviving are one son, Jason Subach, Shenandoah Heights; one grandson, Aiden Jae Subach; one brother, John Subach, Sunbury; two sisters, Rosemarie Sedlock, Frackville, and Justine Monahan and her husband, Gino, Shenandoah; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 10 a.m. at Divine Mercy Parish Church, 232 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Relatives and friends may call from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
