Frank Sherpensky, 82, of Browns Mills, a deacon and spiritual director for the Holy Name Society and the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Ann’s Church there, died of heart failure on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Aspen Hills Healthcare Center in Pemberton.
He was a member of the first graduating class of deacons in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trenton in 1978. He served St. Ann’s Parish, Browns Mills for 36 years.
Born in Shenandoah, Mr. Sherpensky graduated from the former J.W. Cooper High School there in 1949.
Mr. Sherpensky is survived by sons, David, Gregory and Thomas, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. His wife, the former Joan Ann Eckley, died in 1988.
A viewing will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday evening, August 21, at St. Ann’s Church, 22 Trenton Rd., Browns Mills, N.J. 08015, before a 7 p.m. Funeral Mass in the church. Interment will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah.
