Margaret T. (Chapman) Buriak

Margaret T. BuriakMargaret T. (Chapman) Buriak, age 84 of Shenandoah Heights formerly of Centralia and Aristes passed away peacefully Sundaymorning at Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Shenandoah Heights.

Born in Ashland on October 14, 1929 she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret (Bowers) Chapman.

She was educated in the Mt. Carmel Catholic Schools.

Margaret worked as a clerk for the former J.J. Newberry’s, Mt. Carmel.

She was a member of the Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah.

Margaret treasured her family; she was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who generously gave to her family as well as many charitable organizations.  She had a “green thumb” for gardening and was gifted with many sewing skills.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and siblings was her husband, Theodore Buriak on December 17, 1978.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

AngelSurviving are two sons, John Buriak and his wife Sue of Harrisburg and Ted Buriak of Frackville; one daughter, Marguerite “Peg” Coreia and her husband John “Jack” of Schuylkill Haven; five grandchildren, Ted Buriak Jr., Kelly Buriak, Jamie Buriak, Amy Dillman and Michael Coreia; two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Arianna Brennan; her companion, Albert “Phil” Bubnis of Shenandoah Heights; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Prayer and scripture services will be private at the convenience of the family.  Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate.  Private interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Centralia.

    I’m very sorry for the loss of your mom. I have fond memories of my time spent with Aunt Mame and Peg and Ted and Mike way back when. She always treated me with such kindness. We were fortunate to grow up with such loving parents. They set us in a good direction as we started our journey.
