Suzanne E. “Suzie” (Ballat) Rittle

Suzie & JoeSuzanne E. “Suzie” (Ballat) Rittle, age 53 of 92 Crestview Drive, Pottsville passed away unexpectedly Tuesday at her residence.

Born in Coaldale on April 24, 1960 she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Blickley) Ballat. She was a 1978 graduate of Pottsville High School and then graduated in 1980 from the Pottsville School of Radiology.

Suzie was employed at Schuylkill Medical Center-South as an x-ray technologist. She previously worked as an ultrasonographer and an echocardiographer.

She was a member of and active volunteer for St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Pottsville. She was also a member of and licensed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

On August 25, 1984 in St. Patrick’s Church, Pottsville she married Joseph J. Rittle who survives.

Suzie was a loving and devout wife, mom, sister and aunt. She was a selfless person concerned about the needs and wishes of others. Her generosity was not limited to her family only; Suzie offered and gave help to all.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was a sister, Jo Ann Williams.

Yellow RoseSurviving in addition to her husband of twenty-nine years are two daughters, Hannah Rittle and Claudia Rittle both at home; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Josephine Marie Rittle of Shenandoah; five brothers, Joseph, Edward, Michael, Paul and James Ballat; eight sisters, Lucille Hayner, Mary Heidenwolf, Tina Zukovich, Patricia Stramara, Rose Marie Weaver, Amy Ryan, Dee Dunkel, Kay Rissinger; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, 913 Mahantongo St, Pottsville, PA. Rev. David J. Loeper, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Relatives and friends may call Saturday morning at St. John the Baptist Church, Pottsville from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S Jardin St., Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.
