Leona M. Kolonsky of Furnace St., Turkey Run, Shenandoah passed away peacefully Sunday morning at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community.
Born in Shenandoah she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Luscas) Kolonsky.
Leona was a 1945 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.
Earlier she worked for Tung-Sol of Shenandoah and Weatherly. She later retired as a production worker from Westinghouse Corp., Bloomfield, NJ.
Leona was a member of St. George’s Church, Shenandoah. She was faithful to the Adoration Chapel and participated in the devotions held there.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were two brothers, Leonard and Thomas Kolonsky; one sister, Theresa and one niece, Gloria Huftalen.
Surviving are two brothers, Joseph J. Kolonsky with whom she resided and Edward J. Kolonsky and his wife Lucy of Shenandoah; one sister-in-law, Theresa Kolonsky of Shenandoah; two nephews, Leonard Kolonsky, Jr. of Philadelphia and Dr. Edward J. Kolonsky of Shenandoah; two nieces, Nancy Gindlesperger of Palm and Shirley Hirsh of Toms River, NJ.; great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 am in Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
Relatives and friends may call Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at the Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah. There will be no services from the funeral home.
