Joseph W. “Greb” Link

Joseph LinkJoseph W. “Greb” Link, age 67 of Lost Creek, passed away suddenly Monday.

Born in Lost Creek on March 4, 1946 he was a son of the late William and Helen (Medlinsky) Link.

He was a 1964 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

US FlagJoe was a decorated Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War.  He received training as a Military Policeman (MP) and in Sentry Dog Training.  His decorations and citations include the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Prior to his retirement, he was a quality control supervisor having worked for the former Zapata Industries, first in the Frackville facility and later at its Hazleton location.

Greb was a member of the former West End Fire Company, Lost Creek and the former VFW Post of Shenandoah.

Joe was an avid Penn State football fan.

Penn StateSurviving are two daughters, Lorianne Link and Mary Jo Link and their mother Mary Ann (Kilker) Link all of Lost Creek; his companion of 28 years, Sandra Lee Huntzinger of Schuylkill Haven and her children, Dean Huntzinger and his wife Carla of New Jersey, Jeffrey Huntzinger of Schuylkill Haven and Melissa Roeder and her husband Donnie of Schuylkill Haven and the late Gregory Huntzinger; four grandchildren, Isabella, Connor, Kacy and Kyle; a brother William “Pearly” Link and his wife Mary of Duncannon; two sisters, Jean Coyle of Lost Creek and Rosemary Eikszta and her husband, Stanley of Ellenville, NY; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Prayer and scripture services will be held Friday at 12:45 PM at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah.  Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian will officiate.  Interment with military honors will follow at 2:30 PM in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.

    So very shocked to hear of the passing of Joey, my very best friend while growing up on High Road Lost Creek. He was way to young to leave us. On behalf off all the Reilly’s, we will miss him. He lived next door to us all those years, and keep his eye on our dear mother Molly all the time she lived there. Know that y’all are in our prayers.

    We had many a good time, and will always be great full for those days.

    It is a long road of shock, grief and recovery ahead for all of you.

    So, so sorry to my beautiful daughters. Your Dad was so very proud of both of you and loved you both more than life. He so enjoyed Isabella, she made him laugh every day. He was good to both of you. I know you will miss him very much. Take care girls, I love you.
