Robert E. “Duke” Dougal, age 78 of Lansdowne died Monday at the Delaware County Memorial Hospital, Drexel Hill.
Born in Shenandoah on February 2, 1935 he was the son of the late Edward and Ella (Tankalavage) Dougal.
Robert was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah and has been a resident of Lansdowne for 49 years.
He was an Army Veteran.
Earlier Robert was emplyed for many years at Reynolds Metal Company in Chester. Later he retired as a bartender from Danny’s Corner Tavern in Lansdowne.
He was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church, Lansdowne.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were two brothers, Edward and Joseph Dougal.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Arlene E. Shuskie; a sister Mary Duplak of Somerville, NJ; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 AM from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 AM in St. Casimir Church, Shenandoah. Fr. Johnson, O.S.J., Parochial Vicar will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.

So sorry for your loss….I was your neighbor,in Shenandoah. @ 2221/2 E centre st & Bob & I played together as kids & attended JW Cooper High together.He walked me to school in 1st grade @ Roosvelt school…..how long ago was that!!!! God Bless you Lorraine Ruth Smigo
