Stephen J. “Blacky” Sosna, Sr.

Stephen J. “Blacky” Sosna, Sr.Stephen J. “Blacky” Sosna, Sr., age 62 of 206 Lavelle Road, Lavelle passed away Monday at his residence.

Born in Shenandoah on February 5, 1951 he was a son of the late John and Agnes (Obzut) Sosna.

He was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

Steve worked for the Walmart Distribution Center, Highridge Industrial Park as yard jockey.

He was an avid camper and golfer and was member of Outdoor World.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were a son, Stephen J. Sosna, Jr.; a brother, Michael Sosna; and a nephew, Stanley J. Leonarczyk, III.

GolferSurviving are two daughters, Paula Davis and her husband Mark of Ashland and Dawn Kowalick of Shenandoah; two granddaughters, Shawna and Dominique; four brothers, John Sosna of Florida; Paul Sosna and his wife Debbie of Brandonville; David “Yogi” Sosna, Sr. and Mark Sosna and his wife Annette all of Shenandoah; six sisters, Kathleen, wife of Lenny Beenick and Victoria “Cookie” wife of Dale Lindenmuth all of Ringtown; Bonita “Tootsie”, wife of Bill O’Donnell, Marie wife of Bob Clark and Theresa “Terry” wife of Stanley Leonarczyk all of Shenandoah and Annette “Netty” Sosna of Brandonville; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Prayer and scripture services will be held Friday 10:00 AM at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah.  Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian will officiate.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.

    We were shocked to learn of Steve’s passing…… Our condolences and sympathy go out to Steve’s family……
    Steve was a great co-worker, and an all around good friend. We shared alot of laughs with fond memories. May he sing Christmas Carols in Heaven now.
