Elizabeth C. "Isabel" TaylorElizabeth C. “Isabel” (Mozdy) Taylor, age 94 of 128 N. Union St., Shenandoah passed away peacefully Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mary Lou Popalis with whom she resided.

Born in Shenandoah on August 19, 1918 she was the daughter of the late George and Bertha (Hugensky) Mozdy.

She was educated in the Shenandoah area schools.

Isabel was a member of Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah, the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens and enjoyed the company of friends and staff at the Evergreen Adult Day Care Center, Mahanoy City.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Stanley Ogonek Taylor in 1963; four sons, George at birth, Stanley “Gunner”, Edward and Daniel Taylor; two sisters, Mildred Marshall and Jean Maher; and two brothers, George and Frank Mozdy.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving in addition to her daughter, Mary Lou Popalis with whom she resided are two sons, Robert Taylor and his wife Elaine of Quakertown, Paul Taylor of Shenandoah and two additional daughters, Bernice Kaslavage of New Jersey and Doreen wife of Phil Vanik of West Hazleton; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 AM from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM in Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah.  Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate.  Interment will follow in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday morning from 8:00 AM until time of services.  There will be no calling hours on Wednesday evening.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.

    I am offering my condolences to the family of Elizabeth Isabel Taylor. My deepest
    sympathy goes to Bernice, Mary Lou, Doreen, Robert, and Paul. I am a longtime
    friend of Bernice and her late husband Marty and met Isabel several times over
    the course of many years. May she now rest in peace in our Lord’s care.
