Jennie I. (Possessky) Joyce, age 93 of 6 Tar Road, Lost Creek passed away Sunday evening at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street, Pottsville.
Born in Lost Creek #2 on June 25, 1918 she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Gurevicius) Possessky.
She was educated in the West Mahanoy Township Schools.
Jennie was a retired garment worker having worked in the local garment industry.
She was a member of St. George’s Church, Shenandoah and a former member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of St. Mary Magdalene Church, Lost Creek.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Thomas Joyce in 1963; two sisters, Anastasia Swater and Olga Magill; three brothers, John and Carl Possessky and Ernest Drogalis.
Surviving are two daughters Ann I. Joyce and Jean Joyce both at home and a brother, Albert Drogalis, a guest at Ridgeview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Shenandoah Heights; a grandson, Thomas Zarcufsky and his wife Melissa of William Penn; four great-grandchildren, Thomas, Garrison, James and Jennie Zarcufsky; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 AM from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. Casimir’s Church, Shenandoah. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
