Thomas S. Lewis, 84 of 216 Indiana Ave., Shenandoah Heights passed away Sunday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Shenandoah on July 20, 1927, he was the son of the late Emrys and Sephorah Lewis.
Mr. Lewis was a United States Merchant Marine.
Tom was retired from the former Purolator Products, Ringtown. Prior to that he worked in manufacturing and was also the owner and operator of the former Gulf Gas Station at the corner of North Main and West Washington Streets, Shenandoah.
He was a member of the former First Baptist Church, Shenandoah where he served as a Deacon and Trustee and was also a member of the Frackville Lodge F&AM #737.
Tom was an avid baseball and football fan, he enjoyed watching and rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife, the former Joyce R. Jones on January 26, 2006; three brothers, David, Mortiki and Edgar Lewis; two sisters, Elizabeth and his twin sister, Ruth Landis.
Surviving are a son Daniel T. Lewis at home and a brother, Emrys Lewis of Bethlehem; nieces and nephews.
Scriptural and prayer services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 am from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Pastor Joseph McHugh will officiate. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 9:00 am until the time of service. There will be no calling hours Tuesday evening.
