Donald J. Wills, age 81 of 501 W. Coal St., Shenandoah passed away Thursday evening at Manor Care Health Services, Pottsville.
Born in Mahanoy City on March 11, 1930 he was the son of the late James and Pamela (Leddin) Wills.
He was a graduate of Mahanoy Township High School Class of 1947.
Donald was a decorated Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal in Japan.
He had worked for the federal government for 37 years before his retirement having worked at both the Valley Forge and New Cumberland offices.
Donald was of the Methodist faith.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were a brother, Bruce Wills and an aunt, Dorothy Wills.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, the former Catherine R. Conti; a sister-in-law, Carmella Conti Przybylik of Shenandoah; nephews, Victor and Charles Conti and Glenn Wills; and a niece, Sharon wife of Thomas Saylor.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Rev. Christopher Wollyung, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Shenandoah will officiate. Interment will follow in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9:00 am until time of service. There will be no calling hours on Monday evening.
