Marilou Dougert, age 73 of 200 Furnace St., Turkey Run, Shenandoah passed away Monday at Schuylkill Medical Center, East Norwegian St., Pottsville.
Born in Hutchinson, Kansas on June 9, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Anna (Yoder) Bontrager.
Marilou was an agent for Trailways in Shenandoah for 15 years. She was last employed by Ateeco Inc., Mrs. T’s, Shenandoah for 10 years.
She was a member of St. George’s Church, Shenandoah and the American Legion Post #398 Ladies Auxiliary, Frackville.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband Joseph Dougert in 1983 and three brothers, Freddie, her twin Harry and Wayne Bontrager.
Surviving are four daughters, Roseann wife of Joe Cocco of Ringtown, Louise wife of Michael Tedesco of Shenandoah, Nancy wife of Ron Savakinas of Ringtown; Theresa Dougert, her beloved daughter and caregiver at home; three grandchildren, Vanessa and Dominic Tedesco and Savannah Savakinas; two brothers, Gary Bontrager and his wife Barbara and Orvan Bontrager and his wife Cara all of Hutchinson, Kansas; two sisters, Susie wife of Jacob Fry and Viola wife of Samuel Eash all of Topeka, Indiana; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 8:00 am from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 8:30 am in St. Casimir’s Church, Shenandoah. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
