Anthony P. “Chuck” Cecchini, age 78 of 118 N. Grant St., Shenandoah passed away Tuesday at Schuylkill Medical Center-E. Norwegian St., Pottsville.
Born in Shenandoah on March 25, 1932 he was the son of the late Michael and Ann (Pukavage) Cecchini.
He was a member of St. George’s Church, Shenandoah.
Anthony was a forklift operator for over twenty years at the former Goyne Pump, Ashland.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were a daughter Donnamarie R. Curreli on November 12, 2009; one brother, Joseph Cecchini and one sister, Mildred Wiekrykas.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Rosemarie A. Mocknis; two sons, Anthony E. Cecchini and his wife Marylou of Virginia Beach, VA and Thomas Cecchini and his wife Meri of Ringtown; one daughter, Kathleen wife of Michael Wishnefsky of Shenandoah; a son-in-law, Mario C. Curreli of William Penn; eight grandchildren, Michael and Justin Wishnefsky, Christopher, Jennifer and Stephanie Cecchini, Thomas Anthony Cecchini, and Samantha & Thomas Stauffer; one brother, Michael Cecchini of Lost Creek; three sisters, Marie Lorah of Shenandoah, Patricia “Tootsie” Ladenbush of Hanover, MD and Dorothy Derr of Frackville; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 10:30 am in Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Committal Services will follow in Annunciation BVM Chapel, Shenandoah Heights. Interment will be in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
A visitation will be held on Monday morning from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in Annunciation BVM Church. There will be no services from the funeral home. Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah is in charge of arrangements.
