Stephanie A. “Sarah” Volousky

SarahStephanie A. “Sarah” Volousky, age 96, a former resident of W. Columbus St., Shenandoah passed away Sunday evening in Washington, PA.

Born in Shenandoah on March 9, 1914 she was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna Pogurzelski Milewski.

Prior to her retirement, Sarah worked as a teacher’s aide for the Shenandoah Valley School District.

Mrs. Volousky was a devout member of St. Stanislaus Church, the church choir, Rosary and Sacred Heart Societies of the parish, Union of Polish Women in America-Group #88 all of Shenandoah.

Sarah was the last surviving member of her immediate family, preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband John Volousky in 1958; one brother Edward Milewski; three sisters Rosemary Butler, Sister Paschalia of the Bernardine Franciscan Order and Vera Kornuszko.

Surviving are one son Edward E. Volousky and his wife Debra of Charleston, SC; one daughter Rosemarie McKee of Washington, PA; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 8:45 am from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00am in St. Stanislaus Church, Shenandoah. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 7:30 am to 8:45 am. There will be no calling hours on Thursday evening.

The family prefers donations to St. Stanislaus Church Memorial Fund, 108 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah, PA 17976.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.
